Starting a tech company is hard. Growing a tech company beyond the first few million in revenue is significantly harder. The stuff that just worked no longer does. Team communication and software development process problems rear their heads. Early individual contributors suddenly need to figure out leadership and management. Tech debt starts to creep in. Security and IT governance become a game of hot potato. Things that used to take days suddenly take weeks or months. Engineers feel like they aren't being heard. The leadership team wants to trust their tech teams, but feels unequipped to validate what they're being told.
At Carbon Grace, we aim to solve these problems. We apply our years of technology leadership experience to help companies work through the growing pains of starting and accelerating their software businesses.
We offer one-time consulting and recurring technical leadership services to enable technology companies to reach their full potential.
Trying to make sense of the health of your tech organization and find ways to improve productivity?
We evaluate the health of your team, processes, and systems and provide guidance on how to address gaps in those areas.
Have an engineer stepping into a new technical leadership role? We serve as a coach, mentor, and second set of eyes for your technical leadership team with recurring sessions and an open line of communication.
Growing start-up that needs expert technical leadership but cannot justify the huge salary? We serve as a fractional, part-time CTO to provide the technical leadership needed to ensure success in your early days as a company at a fraction of the cost. Availability is limited.
Carbon Grace is led by Nate Good, an experienced three-time Chief Technology Officer. Nate has built software engineering teams from seed-stage to successful exits. He has led technology departments of over 100 individuals and has managed software engineering, devops, security, IT, data science, and product development. His teams and products have been trusted by prestigious organizations including the NFL, UPS, Comedy Central, and Coachella. He has worked for bootstrapped, VC, and PE-owned businesses and has overseen numerous mergers and acquisitions from both sides of the transaction. Outside of his CTO work, Nate serves as an advisor and board member for technology companies, helping them mature their software development teams and practices. Nate believes that keeping the trust of engineers means staying sharp at the keyboard and as a result, he remains active in software development outside of his leadership roles. He has authored open-source libraries that have been installed millions of times, and his data analysis and visualization work have been used by NPR and the Washington Post.
